rescued by New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program,
one of the many agencies we supported this year.
Adopted by Emily Putternaugh and now excelling in the art of dressage.
In the words of Dot Morgan of New Vocations:
Whitney's Tune came to New Vocations with a severe bowed tendon behind. This
is a very unusual injury. He was on stall rest when Tanya Jordan came to look
for a horse for one of her exceptional students, Emily Puterbaugh. Tanya selected
Whitney's Tune without ever seeing him walk out of the stall. She took him to
her facility and began therapudic cold water treatments and massage. Emily fell
in love with the gelding and renamed him Toblerone, i.e. Toby. It was at least
four months before Emily even turned him out and several more before she began
his transitional training. Toby had actually only been schooled five months since
his injury healed when the photo was taken of him competing at the Kentucky Horse
Park. Now, nine years later, Toby and Emily are competing in 3rd level dressage.
Kindest Regards,
Dot Morgan
